Apparently, you need a theme for a room these days when you bring a child into the world. Simply splashing some pink or blue paint on the walls is no longer acceptable. Mrs. Undaground and I are currently negotiating this process.
"I have a great idea for a theme, and best of all, it's asexual", said my wife.
"If you say it's asexual, then that means it's for a little girl."
"No. This could be for a boy or a girl."
"I'm listening."
Wait for it...
"Hot air balloons", she said, proudly.
"Yep. That's a girl's room."
"How is hot air balloons only for girls?", she asked.
"I can't bring my boy into this world and then put him in a hot-air balloon room. We might as well just buy him dolls and call him Mary Anne or something."
"I don't think so, but maybe I will buy him dolls."
"If you want to do air travel, that would work for a boy's room. We can put a hot-air balloon in there, right next to the fighter jets, rockets, and scud missiles."
"What's wrong with just balloons?"
"I don't know. I can't put my finger on it, but when I close my eyes, I can see our kid in therapy 20 years from now saying 'They put hot-air balloons all over my walls as an infant'".
And so it begins. This process might take awhile. Feel free to post your suggestions here.

This will be only one of the many discussions you will have that involves your child. If you want to start painting now, then do something neutral like outside...grass, sky and then once you find out what you are having, make it a garden, put hot air balloons in the sky, or fighter jets flying by. By the way, the baby won't even pay much attention to their room until they are about 12-18 months old.
no fighter jets, it makes for a paranoid baby. One word - "retro"
Please listen to mrs. Undaground, she has a "in" with the new baby, and is not making the decision lightly. Bold vibrant colors are what babies like best and can see easier, and yes, they are great for a boy or girl. Please let the Mrs. have her say in this, making decisions for this new baby start now, and Mrs. is doing a wonderful job!
{{No I never met the Mrs. or am I related to her! }}
Do a Pink Floyd "The Wall" motif
